A2A WAS AWARDED 5.4 GW IN THE THIRD CAPACITY MARKET AUCTION CALLED BY
TERNA
1.3 GW WILL BE OF NEW CAPACITY
Milan, February 23, 2022 - In the third capacity market auction called by Terna for the 2024 delivery year, A2A was awarded a total of 5.4 GW of capacity nationwide, of which 1.3 GW will be of new capacity. The portfolio earned by the Group, with a mix of technological solutions that includes gas- fired plants, electrochemical storage and renewable source plants (hydroelectric and solar), contributes to ensure the flexibility and decarbonisation of the Italian electricity system, in line with the objectives of A2A's Business Plan.
The annual contract has an auction award price of 33,000 €/MW/year for the existing capacity. Otherwise, the new capacity envisages a 15-year contract with an auction award price equal to 70,000 €/MW/year for capacity already authorized and 48,110 €/MW/year for that yet to be authorized.
